effigies of the Kitchen God are sometimes burned on this day to send a god to
the Jade Emperor to allow the god to tell the emperor the family’s good deeds
and responsibilities.

fortune, cleverness, long life, new beginnings
Tenth Day Feb 21, 2021
• Celebrate with prayers, offerings, and banquets on the tenth day of Chinese New
Year.
• Birthday of Grains represent abundance.
Thirteenth Day Feb 24, 2021
• After so much feasting, the thirteenth day of Chinese New Year is often reserved
for vegetarian foods. Mustard greens in particular are eaten to symbolically
cleanse the digestive system.
Fifteenth Day Feb 26, 2021
• The Lantern Festival signals a close to the Chinese New
Year. Paper lanterns light the way for lion dances,
parades and festivals. The lanterns displayed outside
guides lost souls home.
• Serve Tang Yuan, the sweet rice flour dumplings in
sweet syrup to symbolize reunion.
