                          need to loosen up. Set aside. Cut into 4-inch pieces just before adding
                          them to the pot.
                       2.  Combine the marinade ingredients and add to chicken pieces. Marinate
                          the chicken for at least 10 minutes.
                       3.  Sauté garlic and ginger in oil for half a minute.
                       4.  Add chicken pieces and sauté for 3 minutes.
                       5.  Add water, bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until
                          chicken is tender.
                       6.  Stir bean threads into the broth and simmer another 5 minutes or until the
                          bean threads are soft and translucent..
                       7.  Add salt and pepper.
                       8.  Simmer 10 minutes.
                       9.  Garnish with green onions and serve. If not eaten immediately, much of
                          the water may be absorbed by the bean threads. Additional chicken broth
                          may be added as desired.
