Chinese New Year is all about celebrating traditions, customs and sharing
wonderful dishes with family and friends. Sharing always creates a sense of
family. This year, we are sharing family favorite Chinese New Year recipes from
members of our BACGG family.
This past year, we’ve cooked more meals at home and probably tried new
recipes. We know the person who gives us their recipe(s) that the results are
worth keeping.
Within our virtual flip cookbook, we listed the name of the member who shared
their recipe. If you know the person who shared the recipe, please thank them.
Each author has prepared their dishes many times for their own family and we
are grateful to each of them for sharing their personal recipe(s). Thank you!
A huge thank you to Ron Chan and Will Lee for developing our BACGG online
flip cookbook. Ron suggested the concept idea, then developed it and made it
possible for you to view each recipe. Will Lee designed the beautiful front cover
using a photo of his auntie’s Lo Han Jai for our New Year table and the last page.
The cover makes you want to look inside. Thank you to both!
There are several people who helped behind the scenes and you rarely see them,
but we would like to name them and thank them. Doug Joe, Bruce Chin, Al Low,
Alvin Huie, and Justine Wong all provided help to make these recipes visible.
Thank you.
Recipes are like stories from our loved ones. Honor those who taught us how to
cook by sharing your skills and recipes with others. Enjoy!
